(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) - Mischief charges have been laid following damage caused to a vehicle and a business in Mount Forest.

On October 25, 2025, at approximately 11:30 pm, the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a suspicious person causing damage to a vehicle on Wellington Street West in Mount Forest. Hours later, on October 26, 2025, at approximately 3:30am, Wellington OPP responded to a report of a broken window at a business on Main Street South in Mount Forest.

As a result of the investigation, a 16-year-old from Mount Forest, is charged under the Criminal Code with:

• Mischief - destroys or damages property (two counts)

The accused, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph at a later date.
