(ADJALA-TOSORONTIO, ON)- Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual with impaired driving following a two vehicle collision in Adjala-Tosorontio Township.

On November 17, 2025, shortly before 1:30 am, Nottawasaga OPP responded to a two-vehicle rear-end collision on County Road 50 in Adjala-Tosorontio Township. Officers located the vehicles and spoke with the drivers. One passenger required extrication from a vehicle. One driver sustained minor injuries, while the passenger was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. During the interaction, officers formed grounds that one driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol, resulting in that driver’s arrest.

As a result of the investigation, Jose RIVAS MENDEZ 35-years-old of New Tecumseth was charged with:

• Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
• Operation causing bodily harm

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on December 11, 2025, to answer to the charges.
