OFFICER ASSAULTED DURING INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE INVESTIGATION


(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - An individual has been charged after a police officer was assaulted during an investigation into an intimate partner violence incident.

On Sunday, November 16, 2025, at approximately 4:49 pm, the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a dispute between two individuals at an address in Norfolk County.

While investigating, officers interacted with one individual, during which an officer was physically assaulted. No injuries were reported.

As a result, a 35-year-old Mississauga resident was arrested and charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Obstruct Peace Officer, - Assault a Peace Officer, - Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe at a later date.
