(WEST NIPISSING, ON) - Police arrested and charged one person after responding to an intimate partner investigation.

On Saturday June 14, 2025, at approximately 11:20 pm, the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an intimate partner dispute at a residence on Rabbit Trail Road, West Nipissing.

No injuries were reported when, one person displayed a loaded rifle and uttered a threat to harm another individual in the residence.

Police seized four unrestricted long-guns and ammunition from the residence.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old person, from West Nipissing, was arrested and charged with, uttering threats and careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition.

The accused was held for Bail Court and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, in North Bay.

The OPP will not be releasing the name of the accused in order to protect the identity of the victims.
