(FRENCH RIVER, ON) - Police arrested and charged one person with assault and uttering threats offences.

On Saturday June 14, 2025, at approximately 9:10 am, the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance at a residence on St. David Street, French River.

No injuries were reported, when an individual physically assaulted two people from that residence and utter a threat to harm one of them. All parties were known to each other.

As a result of the investigation, Cathy ST. PIERRE, 64 years-of-age, from French River, was charged with:

• Assault - two counts
• Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, in Sudbury.
