(MIDLAND, ON) - An officer from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) operating a cruiser equipped with a Automated Licence Plate Reader (ALPR) was led into an number of driving related investigations of a vehicle and it’s driver, after a traffic stop in Tiny Township on July 15, 2025, at approximately 3:20 pm
The officer conducting traffic enforcement on Simcoe County Road 6 noted the violation information provided by the ALPR unit of a north bound green Toyota and attempted a vehicle stop and was able to eventually able to safely stop the suspect vehicle in a private parking at the intersection of Simcoe County Road 6 and Lafontaine Road and entered into an investigation of a number of Highway Traffic Act violations.
As a result, the 22-year old female driver of Elmvale was charged with the following offences of Drive While Under Suspension, Follow Too Closely, Fail To Stop For Stop Sign, Fail to Signal Lane Change all to be heard in Provincial Offences court at a future date.
The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a seven day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.
In another traffic related investigation, an officer conducting traffic enforcement on Baseline Road in Tiny Township of July 14, 2025 at approximately 7:15 pm stopped a white Ford pick up for a speed related offence.
As a result the 35-year old male driver of Toronto was cited for a number of Highway Traffic Act driving offences resulting in a 30 day drivers licence suspension.
The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a 14 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.
