OPP AND LONDON POLICE SERVICE SHUT DOWN ILLEGAL CANNABIS DISPENSARY
(LONDON, ON) - An illegal dispensary has been shut down in London and an individual is facing charges under the Criminal Code (CC) and the Cannabis Act (CA).
The storefront has been shut down and will be held under Interim Closure Orders as per section 18(1) of the Cannabis Control Act (CCA).
Persons with interest in the location (including owners) who wish to enter these premises may apply to the Superior Court of Justice for permission under section 18(4) of the CCA. Unauthorized entry into a building subject to an interim closure may result in charges of breaking and entering under section 348(1) of the CC.
As a result of the investigation, Ashley BURLEY-DENIS, age 25 of London, was charged with the following three offences contrary to the CC and the CA:
- Possession of property obtained by crime
- Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling
- Possession of illicit cannabis
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in London on Monday, September 29, 2025.
