(SOUTH PORCUPINE, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrest one person for impaired after collision

On Friday, June 6, 2025, at approximately 5:00 am, the South Porcupine OPP responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 144 in Hazen Township, north of Gogama.

The investigation revealed the vehicle was stolen.  As a result, police arrested and charged, Christopher RICH, 36 years-old of Toronto with the following Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences:

• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
• Failure or refusal to comply with demand
• Operation while impaired - alcohol
• Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code - three counts
• Driving under suspension - three counts

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, July 3, 2025, in Timmins.
