OPP CHARGE BANCROFT MAN IN CHILD EXPLOITATION INVESTIGATION

(BANCROFT, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (CSEU), OPP Digital Forensics Unit, Waterloo Regional Police and Barrie Police Service, with assistance from members of the Huronia West OPP Detachment and Bancroft OPP Detachment, have arrested and charged a Bancroft resident following an online child sexual exploitation investigation.

As a result of the investigation, search warrants were executed at residences in Bancroft and Phelpston, and several electronic devices were seized.

Vincent NOOME, 51 years of age from Bancroft, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Luring a person under 16 years of age, section 172.1(1)(b) - nine counts
  • Luring a person under 18 years of age, section 172.1(1)(a)
  • Making sexually explicit material available to a person under 16 years of age, sec 171.1(1)(b) - seven counts
  • Making child pornography available, section 163.1(2) - six counts

The accused remains in custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bellville on July 31, 2025.
