One Person Facing Numerous Charges 

(CASSELMAN, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Street Crime Unit solved numerous break-ins, recovered approximately $40,000 worth of stolen property and arrested one person.

A total of 18 break-ins had been reported around the Casselman area between July 1 and September 27 this year.

On Monday, October 27, 2025, members of the Community Street Crime Unit, assisted by members of the Russell County OPP, made an arrest and then executed a search warrant at a residence on Lafleche Boulevard in Casselman. They located a large amount of stolen property, including contractor tools and other power tools, an acetylene cutting torch and alcohol.

Yohan CAISSY, age 22 of Casselman has been charged with:

  • Break and enter to commit an indictable offence - 18 counts
  • Disguise with intent
  • Possession of break-in tools
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on November 5, 2025.
