Over 21 Vehicle Stops Result in Tickets and Warnings

(MIDLAND, ON) - Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were actively enforcing traffic laws across North Simcoe on September 26 and 27, 2025. Their efforts resulted in over 21 vehicle stops, with drivers receiving a combination of warnings and Provincial Offences Act notices in the interest of public safety.

Traffic stops were conducted on a variety of roadways, including:

  • Highways 400 and 12
  • Simcoe County Roads 6, 27, and 93
  • Vasey Road, Old Fort Road, Rumney Road, Baseline Road
  • Angela Schmidt Foster Road, Concession Road 4 West
  • Numerous streets within the Town of Midland

Officers addressed a range of violations, including:

  • Speeding and stunt driving
  • Commercial vehicle infractions
  • Insurance and driver’s licence issues
  • Licence plate and vehicle lighting offences

In cases involving stunt driving, vehicles were towed and drivers’ licences were suspended under the Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) program, as outlined by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation.

The OPP continues to focus on reducing serious collisions by targeting the “Big Four” traffic-related offences:

  • Impaired Driving
  • Distracted Driving
  • Speeding
  • Seatbelt Use
