(SOUTHWOLD, ON) - Members of the Elgin detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team members, Crisis Negotiators, Canine, and Paramedics are currently on scene of an active incident on Bush Line in the Municipality of Southwold.

On Wednesday July16, 2024, at approximately 6:17 am, members of the Elgin detachment received a call that turned into a barricaded person at a Bush Line address.

Police contained the area and currently have Bush Line closed from Mill Road to Ashmore Road.

There is an increase in police presence in the area.

There is no threat to public safety and updates will be provided when new information becomes available.
