OPP INVESTIGATE DISTURBANCE IN SIMCOE

One Individual Charged

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) - An individual has been charged following an investigation into a disturbance in Simcoe.

On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at approximately 4:40 pm, members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a disturbance on Lot Street in Simcoe.

The investigation revealed that two individuals were involved in an interaction on the property, during which one physically assaulted the other. Minor injuries were reported.

As a result, 38-year-old Christopher MATZIG, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with the following alleged offence:

• Assault

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
