(LAMBTON SHORES, ON) - One individual has died following an incident at Ipperwash Beach, Lake Huron, in the Municipality of Lambton Shores.

On June 29, 2025, at approximately 6:20 pm, members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Lambton Emergency Medical Services, and local fire responded to a request for assistance on Ipperwash Beach, near the end of Ipperwash Road.

Police attended and located an unresponsive individual who had been brought to shore by another person.

Early investigation determined that the individual had entered shallow water after diving from a vessel and became unresponsive.

The 44-year-old of Lambton Shores was transported to hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.

The investigation is continuing.
