(POINT EDWARD, ON) - On June 25, 2025, at approximately 8:00 pm, the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Point Edward Fire & Rescue and Lambton Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a report of a collision on Michigan Avenue, near Louisa Street in the Village of Point Edward.
The investigation determined that the vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree, and subsequently collided with a hydro pole.
The driver, an 81-year-old resident of Sarnia and lone occupant of the vehicle, was transported to hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.
Michigan Avenue was closed between Louisa Street and Arthur Street for approximately four hours to allow for the repair of the damaged hydro pole.
