(WEST NIPISSING, ON) - The Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a death.

On Thursday June 26, 2025, at approximately 5:30 pm, the Nipissing West OPP, along with Fire Services, responded to a body found floating in the Upper Sturgeon River, West Nipissing.

The investigation is in its early stages and the OPP reminds all members of the public to be aware of their personal safety at all times.

The Nipissing West OPP Crime Unit is working in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service to determine the cause of death.
