OPP INVESTIGATING DEATH

No Believed Threat to Public Safety

(BOBCAYGEON, ON) - The City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a death in Bobcaygeon.

Officers were called to a local park on Mansfield Street, Bobcaygeon, shortly before 9:18 pm, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, where one person was located deceased.

While the cause of death cannot yet be confirmed, investigators believe there is no imminent threat to public safety, although the OPP reminds all members of the public to be aware of their personal safety at all times.

The investigation is being conducted by members of the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).

The investigation is in its early stages, and no further details can be released at this time. Residents of the area should expect to see an increased police presence.
