OPP INVESTIGATING FATAL COLLISION IN KAPUSKASING - WITNESSES SOUGHT

(KAPUSKASING, ON) - The James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision involving a pickup truck and a pedestrian.

On Monday, November 24, 2025, at approximately 3:30 pm, officers from the James Bay OPP, along with Cochrane District Emergency Medical Services (EMS), responded to a report of a collision at the intersection of Riverside Drive and McPherson Avenue.

The 78-year-old pedestrian was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died as a result of those injuries.

The OPP’s Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team is assisting with the investigation. Riverside Drive was closed for approximately 10 hours while investigators worked at the scene.
