OPP INVESTIGATING FATAL COLLISION IN RAMARA TOWNSHIP


(ORILLIA, ON) - The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision that occurred on County Road 169 in Ramara Township.

On September 20, 2025, at approximately 1:40 pm, Orillia OPP officers, along with Georgian EMS, Ramara Fire, and Rama First Nations Police officers, responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision that occurred on County Road 169 between Switch Road and Line 5 in Ramara Township.

The driver of one of the involved vehicles was pronounced deceased at scene. The passenger of that vehicle has been transported to a Toronto area hospital by Air ORNGE with life altering injuries. The driver and passenger of the other involved vehicle were transported to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The Central Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) Team is assisting with the ongoing investigation, with assistance from the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. The intersection remains closed at this time while the investigation is underway.
