OPP INVESTIGATING FATAL COLLISION ON HIGHWAY 401 IN MISSISSAUGA
(MISSISSAUGA, ON) - One individual has been pronounced deceased after a collision on Highway 401 in Mississauga.
On Thursday, January 1, 2026, at approximately 6:10 am, members of the Mississauga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on the eastbound collectors’ lanes on Highway 401 near Dixie Road in Mississauga.
A 32-year-old female from Ottawa was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
All eastbound collectors’ lanes on Highway 401 were closed for investigation, with assistance from OPP Technical Collision Investigators and a Reconstructionist. All lanes have since reopened.
