OPP INVESTIGATING FATAL FAIL-TO-REMAIN COLLISION IN BRANT COUNTY

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) - Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal, pedestrian-involved collision in Glen Morris in which the driver failed to remain at the scene.

On Sunday, January 11, 2026, at approximately 8:30 am, members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Brant-Brantford Paramedic Services and the Brant County Fire Department, responded to a report of a fail-to-remain collision involving a cyclist on East River Road in Glen Morris.

Preliminary information indicates that a motorist travelling along East River Road located an unresponsive cyclist and vehicle debris in a ditch. The cyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The vehicle involved did not remain at the location.

Additional details regarding the cyclist are being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin.

East River Road, between Glen Morris Road West and Highway 24, is expected to remain closed for several hours while the investigation continues.
