(KINGSTON, ON) - Members of the Frontenac County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with the Canadian Coast Guard and Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC), responded to a distress call near Milton Island on the St. Lawrence River.

On Monday, June 30, 2025, emergency crews were called after a man reportedly fell from a boat, struck his head on the propeller, and did not resurface.

The OPP Marine Unit launched from Portsmouth Olympic Harbour and began search efforts with support from the Coast Guard and JRCC. The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) has been engaged and is on route.
