OPP INVESTIGATING MULTIPLE HATE MOTIVED INCIDENTS


(WEST ELGIN, ON)  - Police are seeking assistance in identifying those responsible for multiple mischief occurrences that are classified as hate/bias motivated incidents.

On Saturday, June 14, 2025, at approximately 9:12 am the Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), responded to a mischief at a residence on Argyle Street in the town of West Lorne in the Municipality of West Elgin. Two tires were damaged on the resident’s vehicle.

On Monday, July 7, 2025, at approximately 3:39 am the same vehicle sustained a broken taillight and a broken passenger door mirror.

On Saturday, July 19, 2025, at approximately 2:07 am the same vehicle sustained three damaged tires.

On Thursday, July 24, 2025, at approximately 1:30 am the vehicle sustained damage to both rear tires and was spray painted.

The OPP Crime Unit is currently investigating the reported hate/bias motivated crime and the OPP’s Hate Crime Extremism Unit has been engaged.

The OPP takes hate/bias motivated investigations seriously. The OPP will continue to collaborate with community partners to provide supports to those who are victimized by hate/bias motivated incidents.
