(PERTH EAST TWP, ON) - The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a collision involving a pedestrian and an unloaded commercial motor vehicle on Perth Line 56, just outside of Topping.
On August 1, 2025, at approximately 1:30 pm, members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police, alongside local emergency services responded to a collision on Perth Line 56, just outside of Topping.
The collision involved an unloaded commercial motor vehicle striking a 4-year-old from Mornington Township.
The child sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was first taken to a local hospital, then airlifted to a trauma centre for further medical treatment.
The OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team attended the scene and is assisting Perth County OPP with the investigation.
As a result of the collision, Perth Line 56 was closed for several hours, but has since bene reopened.
