OPP INVESTIGATING SUDDEN DEATH
(KEARNEY, ON) - Members of the Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a sudden death in Kearney, related to a firearm-related hunting incident.
On Monday, October 20, 2025, at approximately 9:00 am, the Almaguin Highlands OPP, Parry Sound District Emergency Medical Services and the Kearney Fire Department responded to a medical call in a bush area near the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs Trail D.
One person, a 71-year-old from Greater Napanee, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
