OPP INVESTIGATING SUDDEN DEATH IN GREATER SUDBURY AREA

(GREATER SUDBURY, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is conducting a sudden death investigation in the Greater Sudbury Area.

On Friday, May 23, 2025, at approximately 8:00 pm, Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) members received a call regarding an unresponsive individual at a residence in Lively. Emergency medical services transported the individual to the hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Roch (Rocco) Renaud of the City of Greater Sudbury.

On Wednesday June 18, 2025, the GSPS requested the OPP to assume responsibility for the investigation. A postmortem was conducted at the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OFPS), but a cause of death has not yet been determined.
