Local Residents Urged to Remain Vigilant

(BONFIELD, ON) - The North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a death in Bonfield. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity.

On Saturday, July 19, 2025, at approximately 6:45 am, officers were called to a residence on Trunk Road where one person was located deceased.

While the cause of death cannot yet be confirmed, the OPP is urging local residents to remain vigilant and report any recent or ongoing suspicious activity to police.

Residents of Bonfield can expect to see an increased police presence as officers continue the investigation.

This investigation is being conducted by the North Bay OPP, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Assistance is also being provided by Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Response Team, OPP Aviation and Canine Unit.
