OPP RESPONDS TO ARMED INDIVIDUAL, SHELTER-IN-PLACE LIFTED


Suspect in custody, shelter-in-place no longer in effect

(Kettle Point, ON) - Members of the Lambton Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are assisting Anishinabek Police Services in responding to an incident involving an armed individual in Kettle Point.

As a precaution, a shelter-in-place order was issued at approximately 10:25 am on Saturday, October 4, 2025. Shortly after, the individual was placed in police custody and the shelter-in-place order was lifted. Members of the public in the area may resume their regular activities.

A heavy police presence will remain in the area and the road closure on Lake Road and Centre Side Road will remain in effect as the on-scene investigation concludes.

More information regarding this incident will follow in a later release.

The OPP recognizes the significant emotional impact that receiving a shelter in place can cause and thanks members of the public for their cooperation and understanding.
