(MABERLY, ON) - Members of the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a drowning incident in Silver Lake Provincial Park.

On Saturday, August 16, 2025, at approximately 4:30 pm, OPP responded to a call for service for a swimmer that had gone missing after jumping out of a canoe into the water.

A 26-year-old male has been recovered and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The OPP Marine Unit, and the Tay Valley Fire Department assisted in the effort.
