OPP SEEKING PUBLIC ASSISTANCE AFTER DISTRACTION THEFT IN BRIGHTON

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) - The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a distraction theft and is asking for the public’s help.

On November 15, 2025, at approximately 4:00 pm, officers received a report of a stolen wallet and unauthorized transactions totaling $3,800 using bank cards.

The complainant advised they had their wallet while visiting a commercial property on Elizabeth Street in Brighton earlier that afternoon. Investigators believe the theft occurred in the parking lot through a distraction technique.
