(PETERBOROUGH, ON)- The Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are looking for additional victims after an individual was arrested and charged.
On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, the Peterborough County OPP received a call from an individual who reported finding a tracking device on their vehicle. At this time an investigation was initiated, and a second tracking device and victim were located and identified.
On Thursday, November 20, 2025, members of the Peterborough County OPP Crime Unit executed a warrant at a residence in Peterborough where Dale SHEETS, 58 from Peterborough, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:
- Criminal harassment - repeatedly follow - two counts
- Forcible confinement
- Kidnapping
- Sexual assault
The accused was held for Bail and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on a later date.

Criminals may attempt to place tracking devices on vehicles without your knowledge. Common exterior hiding spots include:
- Under the bumper: Often attached with magnets for easy concealment
- Inside wheel wells: Hidden behind tires and protected from view
- Behind the license plate: A discreet location with good signal reception
- Under the car frame: Secured with magnets or adhesive underneath the vehicle
These are the most common spots, but trackers can be placed anywhere on or inside a vehicle, so inspect thoroughly. If you find a suspicious device, do not remove it yourself and contact local police immediately.
