(BOBCAYGEON, ON) - More than $4 million in illegal cannabis plants, clones and processed cannabis bud seized and three people charged following a Cannabis Act (CA) investigation.

Investigators located and seized approximately 3,750 illegal cannabis plants, 12,500 cannabis clones, as well as approximately 430 pounds of dried, processed cannabis.

As a result of the investigation, three individuals were each charged with cultivating cannabis without authorization, contrary to s. 12(6)(a) of the CA:

• Xiao DONG, age 50 of Markham
• Qiaoli GUAN, age 49 of Calgary, Alta
• Mei HUANG, age 55 of Markham

The accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on July 10, 2025.

The investigation is ongoing.
