OPP YOUTH FOUNDATION RECEIVE LARGE DONATION

(PARRY SOUND, ON) - The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police was proud to be the host location for an OPP Youth Foundation donation.

On October 8, 2025, OPP Youth Foundation Executive Director Sandy Poredos was joined by Cheryl and David Andrews who presented a cheque for $100,000 to the OPP Youth Foundation from the estate of their late uncle, Frank Richman. Also present was Superintendent Maville from the OPP North East Region Headquarters, Staff Sergeant Wall, Sergeant Van Erp and Provincial Constable Charlebois from the West Parry Sound OPP.

Cheryl describes her uncle as a lifelong educator and credits him with helping her fall in love with the Parry Sound area as a teenager and that his final wishes were to see his money used helping others.

“This generous donation will help continue our work with disadvantaged youth to reach their highest potential in the communities we serve in the Province of Ontario” said Sandy Poredos
