OXFORD OPP INVESTIGATE SERIOUS COLLISION

(BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM, ON) - The Oxford Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a serious collision which has left one driver in life-threatening condition.

On December 9, 2025, at approximately 6:37 pm, members of the Oxford Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment, Paramedic Services and Fire Services responded to a serious collision on Highway 401, in the eastbound lanes, west of Oxford Road 3 in the Township of Blandford-Blenheim, involving a passenger vehicle and a commercial motor vehicle (CMV).

Emergency services located the driver of the passenger vehicle. They were transported to local area hospital and remain in life-threatening condition.

The eastbound lanes of Highway 401 between Cedar Creek Road and Oxford Road 29 were closed for a period while members from the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team investigated the collision. The investigation is ongoing. All lanes of Highway 401 have since been re-opened.
