OXFORD OPP SEEKING THE PUBLICS ASSISTANCE IN A DISTRACTION THEFT INVESTIGATION


(ZORRA, ON) - The Oxford Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking the public’s assistance following a report of a distraction theft at the local store, in the Township of Zorra.

On September 15, 2025, at approximately 1:00 pm, members of the Oxford OPP detachment responded to a report of a theft on Road 74 near 33rd Line, where two subjects attended a residence where they distracted the homeowner.

The investigation indicates that this incident is part of a broader, ongoing pattern of organized distraction thefts targeting vulnerable individuals across the region. We urge all citizens to remain vigilant in public spaces, especially in crowded areas where distraction thefts are more likely to occur. Please keep your personal belongings secure and always be aware of your surroundings. If you witness any suspicious behavior or believe you may have been a victim of a pickpocketing incident, do not hesitate to report it to contact the Oxford OPP Detachment.
