(CENTRAL HURON, ON) - Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Central Huron resident with several criminal offences following a report of an abandoned all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on September 10th, 2025, in the Municipality of Central Huron. 

Just after 7:00 pm, on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, Huron County OPP officers received a report of an ATV in the ditch near a trailer located on Burns Line in Central Huron. Officers attended the location and examined the ATV, which was found to have been stolen in Huron County in April 2024.

A suspect was arrested at the scene.

The suspect has been charged as follows:

Shawn ELLIOTT, 49 years-of-age from Central Huron has been charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000, - Altering / Destroying / Removing a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), - Fail to Comply with Probation - (two counts)

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice - Goderich on November 24th, 2025.
