PERSON FACING MULTIPLE CHARGES AFTER POLICE CALLED TO DISPUTE


(ESPANOLA, ON)  - One person was arrested after police were called to a dispute resulting in assault and stolen vehicle charges.

On Thursday, September 25, 2025, at approximately 10:00 pm, the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call reporting a dispute at a residence in Willisville, where a person was assaulted. While police were on route to the address, the suspect stole a vehicle and fled from the residence. A short time later, police located and arrested the individual.

As a result, a 16-year-old from Valley East has been charged with:

  • Assault cause bodily harm
  • Mischief under $5,000 - two counts
  • Theft of motor vehicle
  • Failure to comply with release order - two counts

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on November 28, 2025.
