On Tuesday, October 7, 2025, police executed a search warrant at a residence in the Town of Petrolia and seized a number of electronic devices.
As a result of the investigation, Lorry TIGNER, 77 years old from Petrolia, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of child pornography contrary to section 163.1(4) of the Criminal Code.
The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on Monday, January 12, 2026.
“Online child exploitation is not a hidden threat, it’s a widespread and deeply troubling reality. Offenders are increasingly misusing everyday technology and popular apps to share illegal content, connect with others who share their intent, and target vulnerable children. These platforms, designed for connection and creativity, are being exploited in ways the public rarely sees. Law enforcement agencies around the world are working relentlessly to identify offenders, rescue victims, and ensure those who prey on children online are held accountable.” - Detective Staff Sergeant Chris Barkey, OPP CSEU
