POLICE CALLED FOR STRANDED SNOWMOBILE

(BROCKTON, ON) - On January 6, 2025, at approximately 12:45 pm, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a stranded snowmobiler near Pearl Lake, Municipality of Brockton.

Police responded to the area with Fire & Paramedic Services. It was determined that the operator had left the groomed trail and got the snowmobile stuck in deep snow, and was having difficulties themselves walking through the deep snow. The operator was unsure of their exact location and their phone battery was very low. They were eventually located by the fire department in good health.

As a result, a 35-year-old from LaSalle was charged with:

  • Fail to produce licence - MSVA 16(1)
  • Drive motorized snow vehicle, trail permit not issued - MSVA 2.1(1)
