(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) - One person has died following a drowning incident that occurred on the Grand River in Elora.
On August 24, 2025, at approximately 6:30 pm, the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with local Paramedic and Fire services, responded to a report of a lost individual in the Grand River.
The individual jumped off the Bissell Park bridge into the Grand River and did not resurface. Local emergency services entered the Grand River and located the individual.
A 29-year-old from Brampton was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim’s identity will not be released out of respect for the privacy of the family.
The Office of the Chief Coroner & Ontario Forensic Pathology Service attended the scene and deemed this incident as non-suspicious.
