PRIDE-THEMED BOLLARDS VANDALIZED IN APSLEY

(NORTH KAWARTHA TOWNSHIP, ON) - The Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an act of vandalism that occurred at the Apsley Library.

On Wednesday June 11, 2025, the Peterborough County OPP received a call from the Apsley Library advising that ‘bollards’ outside of the library that had been painted in celebration of PRIDE Month had been deliberately defaced and painted over. The caller advised that the vandalism took place some time overnight on Tuesday June 10, 2025.

The Apsley Library has announced plans to repaint the bollards and representation from the Peterborough County OPP will be on hand to show our support and to stand in solidarity against hate-motivated actions.

Acts of hate or intolerance are taken very seriously by the Peterborough County OPP and will not be tolerated in our community.
