RESIDENTIAL APARTMENT BUILDING FULLY ENGULFED
Warming Centre Opened for Displaced Residents
(GODERICH, ON) - Emergency responders are currently on scene dealing with a fully engulfed, residential apartment building fire.
On Friday, August 1, 2025, at approximately 11:20 pm, Huron County OPP, Goderich Fire Department and Huron EMS responded to a fully engulfed apartment building fire located on Nelson Street in Goderich.
Firefighters are currently on scene battling the fire and police are asking residents to stay away from the area. Police have evacuated residents on Brock Street and Nelson Street East effected by fire and have opened a warming centre at the Knights of Columbus at 390 Parsons Court. No injuries have been reported.
Nelson Street is currently closed between Cambria Road North and Albert Street.
The Office of the Fire Marshal has been contacted, and updates will be provided when new information becomes available.
