RESIDENTIAL EXPLOSION IN BAYHAM
(BAYHAM, ON) - Emergency services responded to a report of an explosion in the Municipality of Bayham.
On December 5, 2025, at approximately 10:36 am the Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with Bayham Fire & Emergency Services (BFES) department, responded to a report of an explosion and fire at a residential property on Sandytown Line in the Municipality of Bayham.
The fire was quickly extinguished, but the residence was heavily damaged from the explosion. The residence was empty at the time of the incident, and no one was injured.
Sandytown Line is temporarily closed between Stewart Road and Maple Grove Line while the Ontario Fire Marshals conduct their investigation.
The OPP will aid with holding the scene while the Ontario Fire Marshals investigate.
There is no risk to public safety.
