RIDE CHECK RESULTS IN CHARGE


(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) - The Wellington County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a local resident with suspend driving following an incident at a “Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere” (R.I.D.E.) check in Centre Wellington. 

On September 30, 2025, at approximately 11:00 pm, The Wellington County OPP, was conducting a RIDE program, when they observed a motor vehicle approach, suddenly stop, conduct a U-turn and leave in the opposite direction. Upon stopping the vehicle, police learned that the driver was suspended.

As a result, a 45-year-old from Fergus, was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Drive while under suspension

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court - Guelph at a later date.
