RIDE PROGRAM LEADS TO DRUG CHARGES


(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON)  - An early morning RIDE program by members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in an individual being arrested and charged.

Officers were conducting a RIDE program on Highway 62 at County Road 3 at 3:00 am on July 1, 2025. A vehicle entered the RIDE program and officers conducted an investigation.

As a result, an individual was arrested, and officers seized a quantity of suspected cocaine.

Yvan Leclair, age 56 from Tyendinaga was charged with possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The accused were released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
