(EAST ZORRA-TAVISTOCK, ON) - Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment took another impaired driver off the road as the result of a R.I.D.E. check in the Township of East Zorra-Tavistock.

On August 9, 2025, at approximately 3:15 pm, Oxford OPP set up a Reduced Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on George Street in Innerkip.

As a result, Wendy HICKS, a 58-year-old resident of Woodstock, has been charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus
  • Driving Motor Vehicle with Unsealed Alcohol
  • Fail to Stop for Police

The accused has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

R.I.D.E. programs are set up at various locations during the day and night. They continue to prove to be helpful in getting impaired drivers off Oxford County roadways.
