SEARCH WARRANT YEILDS DRUGS AND IMITATION FIREARMS
(WEST PERTH, ON) - One person has been charged with multiple offences following the execution of a residential search warrant in the Municipality of West Perth.
On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit with assistance from the Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit and West Region Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant on a residence near the Town of Mitchell.
Results from the search warrant yielded a quantity of drugs including suspected cocaine, methamphetamine and Xanax with an estimated value of $7,804, as well as Canadian currency, and four imitation firearms.
The accused, a resident of the Municipality of West Perth has been charged with the following Controlled drugs and Substances Act offences:
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - Methamphetamine and Cocaine (Two Counts)
- Possession of a Schedule IV Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
Further, the accused was also charged with:
- Fail to Comply with Probation Contrary to the Criminal Code
The accused was arrested and held in custody, scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on January 9, 2026.
