(TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) - The Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a person in relation to a bicycle theft and a shoplift occurrence in Temiskaming Shores.

On Monday, June 2, 2025, at approximately 1:45 pm, police responded to a bicycle theft at a school in Temiskaming Shores. The investigation led officers to review security camera footage and were able to identify a suspect.

On the same day at approximately 5:15 pm, OPP responded to a report of a shoplifting incident at a business in Temiskaming Shores involving the same individual. The investigation led to seizure a replica firearm and the recovery of the stolen bicycle. 

Jerome PLEMEL, 20 years-of-age from Temiskaming Shores, was charged with the following Criminal Code offences: 

  • Possession of imitation weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Theft under $5,000 - two counts
  • Fail to comply with probation order

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury, on Tuesday, June 24, 2025
