(MUNICIPALITY OF TRENT HILLS, ON) - The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an assault in Campbellford.

On July 9, 2025, at around 3:20 pm police responded to a report from Emergency Medical Services regarding an assault which had taken place at a multiple occupancy residence on Front Street South.

An altercation is believed to have occurred between two individuals at the property in the early hours of the same day between 1:00 am and 2:00 am

As a result, the victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital by EMS.

The suspect is known to the victim and was not present upon the arrival of emergency services.

The scene was held for OPP Forensic Identification Services (IDENT) to attend and assist with the investigation.

This investigation is ongoing and assisted by the Northumberland OPP Crime Unit. Officers are following lines of enquiry and requesting the public’s help in locating the person in connection to the assault.
