Intersection Closes for Investigation

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) - The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently on scene with a serious two motor vehicle collision, closing the intersection of Wellington Road 16 and Sideroad 20.

On September 22, 2025, at approximately 5:00 am, the Wellington County OPP were dispatched to the intersection of Wellington Road 16 and Sideroad 20, within Centre Wellington Township, just north of Belwood, involving a serious two motor-vehicle collision, involving a tractor-trailer and a pick-up truck.

As a result of the collision, the driver in the pick-up truck, sustained serious-life-threatening injuries, and was transported to a trauma centre.

The intersection of Wellington Road 16 and Sideroad 20, within Centre Wellington Township, is closed for the next several hours.

The Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team is assisting the Wellington County OPP with the investigation.

The public is asked to please avoid the area and use alternate routes.
